Taxable property values are from the Bexar Appraisal District based on 2016 taxable values.  Tax rate projections are estimates based on assumptions for district property values, interest rates, timing and amounts of bond issuances, district average daily attendance, state aid, homestead exemption (if applicable), etc.

This tool is designed to provide an estimated tax impact estimate based upon current information regarding the cost of SAISD’s proposed $450 million bond and proposed 13-cent increase to the District’s Maintenance & Operations rate, both of which will appear as separate items on the Nov. 8, 2016 ballot. This tool will generate two charts – one that shows you the estimated monthly impact to your tax bill over the next five years and another that shows you the estimated monthly impact to your tax bill over the next five years should the SAISD Board of Trustees enact an additional $5,000 homestead exemption in 2017.
 
You need to provide the value of the property in question. You can either enter the taxable value in the box below (Taxable value) or you can look it up by providing the house number, street name, and owner last name then clicking the lookup button. Optionally, you can provide your birth year (Birth Year) to determine if the over 65 exemption applies. The over-65 exemption assumes the home owner has filed an over-65 exemption application with the Bexar County Appraisal District and has owned the home as of Jan. 1, 2016.
